Dc Gives Platform To Iranian Dress Designer

Washington, D.C.'s, fashion week featured international designers including Iranian-American designer Mariam Heydari.

During the eight-day event, which began February 15, Heydari showed her designs on D.C. Fashion Week runways.

Heydari has more than 25 years of designing experience. "Being in retail for 28 years, I learned that clothing has to be comfortable, in motion and at rest.

"I like both for myself and my customers that each piece works together to produce a piece of art that provides long-lasting pleasure--a statement of individual style that will be worn with pride." Heydari said. Currently, Heydari has three stores; one in Alexandria, Virginia, and two in Washington, D.C.
